Traditional Art Supplies  Needed:

  • Pack of Construction Paper - multi colors

  • Glue

  • Scissors

  • Using  construction paper objects to create a drawing. The drawing can be some type of scene such as a table with food or a landscape.

  • See Example - Professor Mary has created an example of what the Cut paper art should look like....Please remember, your Electronic Illustrator files will be significantly more detailed than your cut paper drawing.

Technology Art Requirements:

  • Using the construction paper drawing as a guide, recreate the drawing using the many tools in Illustrator such as the shapes and pen drawn objects.

  • You may not use text in this assignment. 

  • Remember all projects created in this class should be done with your portfolio in mind.

Submission Requirements:

  • Construction paper drawing

  • Color Print of our Illustrator version of the drawing

  • Electronic file including your orginal Adobe Illustrator File, a PDF and a JPG file to be submitted to the Elearning Drop Box for Porject Two - http://elearning.gccnj.edu

  • The final illustration will be mounted on Art Board

  • Your final mounted project will be presented to the class.

Grading Criteria:

You will be graded on both the artistic expression of your drawing as well as the use and implementation of the software.  If you create a very simple piece, you will loose points.  If you create a very artistic piece, but fail to use Illustrator correctly, you will loose points.

Remember:  Balance = Art and Technology
