CGA 212 Course Grading

Class Participation - Points given for participating in class discussions and adding to the class environment. Class attendance - if you miss class you will loose points in this section. Remember: If you miss three or more classes, you will automatically fail this class!

Within Class Participation, you will bring in the web address of two web site, one you consider well designed and one you consider poorly designed. You will submit via email each week for posting on the class web site.

Quizzes - Three online quizzes each worth 50 points each !

150 Points

Lab Assignments:

There are seven lab assignments that must be completed during this semester. Many of these lab assignments will be completed during class time. So missing class will cause you to loose points in Class Participation and Lab Assignments.

Projects:
Grading for each project is based heavily upon the projects. Projects will be graded based on:
(1) appropriate use of the tools
(2) thoroughness,
(3) craftsmanship
(4) artistic presentation

Grading Rubrics

In order to increase Student understanding of how projects, classwork and presentations are evaluated, the CGA program has developed grading rubrics. A grading rubric provides a framework for the categories which will be reviewed and evaluated to determine the student's grade on a project. The following rubrics will be used in this CGA course for grading:

Course Grading Scale

Grading for this class is calculated using a straight forward mathematical formula. You can determine you grade at any time by dividing the number of points earned by the total points. For example, if I have earned 950 points out of 1100 total points, the grade would be a 86 % or B+.
